PROGRAMS

School-Based One-To-One Participate one-on-one with a Little at a supervised after-school program in the grade schools. School-based volunteers can help with homework, play games, participate in the After-School activities, or just spend time visiting with their matched Little. School-based volunteers must be at least 16 years old.
Couples Match A husband and wife are matched with a boy from our “Ready To Be Matched” list. They meet weekly with their Little either together or separately in the community.
Family Match A family match includes a Little in a family atmosphere. This program is designed to help your children learn to give back to the community by volunteering. A Family Match is open to any family with a child over the age of 8 years old. These matches are paired with a child of at least three years younger than the son/daughter involved in the match.
Lunch Buddies Would you like to be a Big but just don’t feel you have the time? Why not be a Lunch Buddy to a child in one of our schools? It takes only an hour per week and the commitment is for the school year. All contacts are on school grounds. The time spent is minimal and the rewards are endless.
Bleacher Buddies Share your love of sports with a child by taking him/her to the games you are already attending. Become a Big Brother or Big Sister in this program and help your Little understand the rules of the game, sportsmanship, and school spirit. Develop a love of sports in a child who many not otherwise have the opportunity to attend games. Sports activities in Jacksonville are free for the Big and Little, and in Quincy the sports activities are free at Quincy University. Just show your BBBS Membership Card and matches get in free!
